Lopburi is a city not so far from Bangkok, around 150 km. I spent just 2 days in this city last July, and the monkey there amazed me, then i didnt visit much the city, but hunted monkeys. I call this Project Lobburi Blue, because there is something sad i felt with the monkeys in Lopburi.
Lopburi can have as many as 2,000 monkeys running around the centre of town on any given day.
Originally they ventured forth from their jungle home to the city square back in the 1680s, in the time of King Narai,
when Lopburi was Thailand's ...

Pilgrims I met during my numerous travels throughout the Subcontinent. Religion is still a very important part of life in India and although I am not a religious soul, I am really attracted by them, especially in India.

claude renault / © claude renault       Project : Ardh Kumbh Mela 2007.
I shared a tent with some Sadhus from a village near Varanasi at the Ardh Khumbh Mela last month. The mela last for about one full month. People from all over are coming to bath in the Holy Ganges there. This year the main Bath was on January 19th. I decided to follow the life of regular pilgrims there. A lot of pilgrims are coming there to stay the full month with their families. They organize themselves in little villages inside Akharas. They sleep inside tents, cook , pray, just like home. Most of my images will show the ...

luisafonso / © Luis Afonso       Project : A day in Toronto
I had the opportunity to wander through the streets of Toronto's downtown for a weekend. Without knowing what to search for, I went for a documentary approach and attempted to register the moments that ignited a spark in my humble European soul. I wanted to capture the people and the space they embrace in a balanced way, because no one was more important to me than the other in these brief encounters. And I did what I did for future remembrance. After all, these are the solitary postcards of my memory... The result might be a ...

janiko / © Jean GEBAROWSKI       Project : Mon Paris

My own Paris, seen in my eyes, in black & white. You'll see here only a partial sight of Paris, not the typical Paris but the one I live in. In this project, I only put geometric or illusion pics ; it's a project just for fun (and to test the ...

AnimeshRay / © Animesh Ray       Project : Monsoon, Bengal
Monsoon in Bengal is the most beautiful, most wretched, most sought-after, and most reviled of all seasons.

Rain comes at the end of a brutal summer, yet temperature fluctuates between 35 and 40^oC with 70-90% relative humidity.  Rain feeds the rice paddies and jute fields, rain means having to avoid starvation for millions of people, yet the same rains make many homeless and inundate fields of rice where water level often rises faster than the seedlings can grow.  Undoutedly it is the most poetic of all ...

Somewhere in India, 17 people leave in a hospital and suffer from a terrible sickness, leprosy.
They receive about 150 NRS per month from the Indian government as a wage for disability.
In order to survive, they farm a little bit and receive care and medications from a NGO.

I took these shots in September, 2007, on the second floor of the Main Market Hall (Nagycsarnok) in Budapest, early in the morning when the stalls started to open. Much to my surprise at the start of the day, I found many older men savouring a beer-sized glass filled with white wine to the brim. Most of them didn't mind me taking these shots.
