Everlasting / © Elaine Springford       Project : Morning in Mrauk U
With this my first project on Photholik, I'll try to give you an impression of life in Mrauk U, Burma. The village wakes early before the sun rises and each of the seven mornings that I was there was special. Either climbing the highest peak to witness the sunrise or walking through the village watching the villagers light their morning fires to take the chill away and to share  mohinga, (morning noodle soup). With hardly any motorised vehicles the pace of life is slow. The streets ...

Lake Malawi (also known as Lake Nyasa, Lake Nyassa, Lake Niassa, and Lago Niassa in Mozambique) is the 3rd largest in Africa, 9th in the world.
It's situated between Malawi of course, Mozambique and Tanzania.

I was there for 1 week, at Cape Maclear, the biggest fishing village in Malawi. 10'000 inhabitants live there. Every morning and afternoon I went for a stroll in the village to meet people. I will try to show you the "people of the lake".

luisafonso / © Luis Afonso       Project : The Atlantic Light
Portugal is a tiny country in the west coast of Europe. It is only 218 km wide and 561 km long, but has an Atlantic coast of 832 km. If that isn't enough to explain why Portuguese have a special relation with the ocean, its long history sure is.

I don't remember the first time I set my feet on the ocean's sandy shore - I was too infant to remember... - but I know exactly when ...

scaler / © Caleb Collman       Project : Portraits from East and South Asia
I flew to Hong Kong in June of 2007. After three months in Western China and Tibet, I crossed into Nepal for two months and into India for another two months. My time in India limited by personal exigencies. More than anything, I learned the limitations of my 'style' on this trip - a wink of admiration to those who are much better at 'canning' a story in a single frame - much in the vein of HCB. Anyway these are some of my favorite faces and portraits from that journey. I will update the notes and the technical specs at time ...

This will be a short series of landscapes of a few western states: Arizona, New Mexico and Utah. Most photographs were taken with a rented Hasselblad XPAN.  Time was too short to explore this format well, so these are my early impression with this format.

Luko / © Luko G-R       Project : Paris by numbers
I have been shooting for a while in Paris, even though I will never claim it's my favorite field.
I have been shooting for a while in BW, even though I tend more often forget to load TriX in my Leica camera.

After this while, I think I may have shot enough stuff during these 10 to 15 last years to illustrate a project in Paris. Even though I have never followed any plan for a particular photo project, as far as I remember, I have always shot my pictures with a similar mood, ...
