Hi folks.
Just a question - not a criticism......
Is the site regularly taken down for maintenance? If so, is there a time (GMT / BST) when it's best to avoid trying to upload?
For the past couple of evenings, I've tried to upload a photo but only been able to get as far as a polite notice saying that the site's down for maintenance and it will be up again shortly.
Cheers,
Paul.

Hi Paul Well... Photoholik is never down. If so, it's not for a long time. But sometimes I have to update some files into the server, and then, you should be disconnected. If you have some problems, please tell us as soon as possible in order to see if we were in maintenance or not.

Well, the server is fine, but what you see is a generic error page. Tell us when you encounter that page and which action was done just before, it may help us to improve the site.

Hi there...!
I didn't mean to infer that the site is down - just that when I try to post a photo, I keep getting a message saying that 'sorry, the site is under maintenance' and that it will be possible to post again soon. Other than for posting photos, the site seems to be working just fine. If you could check this, I would be very grateful.
Regards, Paul.

Hi - Just to let you know that I've tried 4 times today (most recently 00:40 hours UK time) and still keep getting the 'site is under maintenance' message. I simply cannot upload anything.
Please confirm if I'm doing something wrong or if the site is genuinely unavaialble / when it will be available.
Thank you.

Hi Steph.
After signing in (enter my site name and password) I then go to my 'Profile' and click on 'upload a photo'. The upload screen arrives and I choose a photo and click to 'upload'. I then get a message telling me that the site is down and under maintenance but that it will soon be up again. This is the same process I used to upload the first 3 photos but, for some reason, I cannot get past the 'site is temporarily down' page to post a photo.
Please investigate and let me know if either I am doing something wrong or if there's a problem with the site.
Thank you. Paul.

Hi Steph,
I use Internet Explorer 7 in English. I also have access to Firefox, so I will give it a go with Firefox as well to see if that makes a difference. What I find confusing is that I've posted 3 photos without problem using exactly the same computer and browser....
I seem to be able to use the other parts of the system with no trouble at all.
Anyway, if you can shed any light on the situation, I'd be extremely grateful.
Regards, Paul.

Further to earlier e-mail......
I've now tried to upload a photo using Google 'Chrome' and 'Firefox' browsers. The message has changed and now says there's a runtime error in application '/'
I have absolutely no idea what this means or where the fault lies. If I need to change my browser settings, I'd be grateful for a step-by-step 'idiot's guide' as I am far from computer literate. All I can say with any certainty is that I have no problem posting photos onto my own website or other forums.
Hope this helps. Regards, Paul.

Hi Steph,
I'm struggling again....
I managed to post one image by changing its name (removing "_ " between two words seemed to do the trick. Then I hit problems again and only seemed to resolve these by removing EXIF data relating to the scanner (it was a scanned film image).
This time, I'm trying to upoad a digital file called "resizedmural". I select upload photo, select the project, click to select the image and hit upload. The next screen is a generic one and says:
"Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage Most likely causes:
You are not connected to the Internet. The website is encountering problems. There might be a typing error in the address." Any ideas what the system / I am doing wrong?
Thanks, Paul.

Hi Paul Can you send me your picture (zip file). I have to test. But, I don't know how, you manage to upload 2 pictures at the same time... and that is not normal....

Hi Steph. Not sure how or why but I eventually managed to upload the photo. I did everything exactly the same as I had previously done. I wondered if that was a 'one off' so I tried to upload the next one I had in mind for the project, and it allowed me to do so without any problems. I'm happy to send you a file of either (or both) of the photos but can you please confirm the address to which I should send them. Many thanks, Paul.
